LONDON, Jcly 20. The following is the result of the race at Sandown Park yesterday for the
ECLIPSE STAKES, of 11,100 soi's; second horse 500 sovb, nominator of winner 800 bovb, third horse 109 sovß from the stakes. For three and four-year-olds. Three-year-olda, Bst 8II>; four, 9st 61b, with penalties and allowances. One mile and a quartrr. 800 nominations. Duko «,! Poriland'B b hj Ayrshire, by Hampton - A'alanta, 4 yrs, lOst 21b (Inc. 101b penalty) .. 1 Mr Douglas H&lrd'a bo El Dorado, by Sterling——Palmflower. 8 yrs, tot lib (ino. 71b penalty) .. 2 Mr Hauton'a ell t Seclusion, by Hermit—Boundary, 8 yrs, Bst 12'.b (inc. 71b penalty and 31b mare's allowance) .. .. ■■ , ■ 8 Ayrshire has now won L 28.175' in stake 3 for his lucky owner, his performances having been as follows:—Last year he carried on the Riddlcsworth Stakes, of 4CO sovs, ot Newmarket Craven ; Two Thousand Guinea Stakes, of 3,550 sovs; Derby Stakes, of 3,675 sovs; and Boscawen Stakes, of 600 sovs, at Newmarket First October. He started first favorite in a field of sixteen for the St. Leger, but could only finish sixth behind Seabreeze, Chillington, Zanzibar, and others. He also went down before Seabreeze in the Lancashire Plate, of 10,222 sovs, but ran her to three-quarters of a length in a field of twenty-four. This year he has won the Kempton Park Stakes, of 10,000 aovs(9,ooo sovato the winner), and the present race, which is worth 10,500 sovs to the winner, he having been nominated by the Duke of Portland. Ayrshire is engaged in the Lancashire Plate, of 12,000 sovs, to be run at Manchester on September 20. El Dorado ran eight times last year, and was successful on four ocoasions—namely, in the British Dominion Stakes, of 975 sovs, at Sandown Park ; Prince of Wales Stakes, of 2,600 sovs, at Goodwood (in which Donovan finished third out of four starters); Clearwell Stakes, of 677 sovs, . at Newmarket second October meeting; and Prendergaet Stakes, of 647 sovs, at the same meeting. I This year bo ran third to Donovan and Miguel iu the Derby. El Dorado is not engaged in the St. Leger. ' Seclusion ran ten times last year and won | three races, they being the Zetland Plate, of 1,779 sovs, at Leicester; Molecombe Stakeß, of 620 sovs, at Goodwood ; and a Nursery Handicap, of 207 sovs, at Newmarket. This year she ran third to L'Abbesse de Jouarre Minthe and in the Oaks. Seclusion is engaged in the St. Leger. ____________
