THE LONDON WOOL SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 15th inst.:—" The sale closed firmly to-day. Superior greasy has advanced id per lb ; combing washed, Jd to Id per fb ; clothing washed, Jd per lb ; scoured, Id to l&d per lb; fine greasy cross-bred, Id per lb; fine washed cross-bred, Id per lb; fine scoured oroBS-bred, Id per lb; coarse scoured oross-bred, Id per lb—since close of last sales. Other descriptions unchanged. The sales comprise 315,000 bales; 9,000 bales have been held over for future disposal; 145,000 bales have been taken for the Continent; 10,000 biles hare been taken for America."
The British and New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Co. have received the following cablegram from Messrs Helmuth, Sohwartee, and Co., dated 15th inat..—" The sales closed without farther ohange. Prices for good grease are at par to Jd higher ; scoured merino and fine crossbred Jd to Id higher. Tho total quantity sold was about 817,000 bales, of whioh about 155,000 bales were taken for export; 8,000 bales are held over."
