MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
BE S. DRING. The adjourned meeting fixed for this morning lapsed for want of a quorum. RE T BROADWAY. An adjourned meeting in this estate was held to-day. Four creditors wero present or represented, Mr W. Macgregor opr earing for the bankrupt. The Assignee said that he had received two tenders for the estate—ono of L3OO, the other of L 440. The last-named was from Messrs Fitchett and Thornton, who said that they would disclose their principal if the tender was accepted. Tho bailiffs valuation for the whole was LG36, but out of that there was L3O worth of furniture voted to the bankrupt. The offers were apparently for the whole of the estate, excepting the lease, of which there was no mention.
Bankrupt said that he had no hope of being able to make a better offer than L 440. The Assignee said that the landlord insisted on his strict legal rights in regard to the fixtures, and it would havo to bo settled what proportion he should receive on account of the machinery, part of which was fixed and part not fixed to the building. He thought the landlord's Ehare would come to about L4O, but, if necessary, an arbitrator would have to be called in. It was resolved that the Assignee and supervisor be empowered to accept the above offer, subject to satisfactory arrangements being made with the landlord about the machinery.
