CHRISTCHURCH, July 9,
The musical societies here are arranging to unite their forces for the purpose of holding a Santley festival. Five cases of typhoid, which have been reported to the Sydenham Borough Council, have been traced by the inspector to the use of milk from a certain dairy. The latter is itself clean, but the cows drank water polluted by drainage from the cowshed and piggeries. Prompt remedial measures have been taken.
