THE TABLES TURNED.
At the Blenheim Police Court to-day H. Hambling was charged, on remand, with having embezzled L 3 4s 6d belonging to the Equitable Insurance Company of America. It transpired that Stewart, part of whose premium Hambling was charged with misappropriating, had subsequently represented to the society's secretary in Wellington that he had paid Hambling LS, and on that representation obtained a policy for L3OO, whilst in fact he had only paid L 6. The Bench dismissed the charge agaiast Hambling, and Stewart waß then and there charged with having a policy by misrepresentation.
