MEETING OF CREDITORS.
RE T. BROADWAY. I A meeting of creditors in the estate of Thomas Broadway, of Dunedin, confectioner, was held at the Official Assignee's office this morning. Mr W. Macgregor appeared for tho bankrupt: Mr Solo.non for the Assignee. Tho bankrupt's statement was 1 as follows: Amount due to unsecured creditors, L 1,304 18s Id; amount duo to secured creditors, L 2.314 0s lOd; total, L 3.618 18s lid. The assets amount to L 1.725, there being a deficiency in the estate of L 1.893 18s lid. The assets are as follows : —Stock-in-trade, estimated at L 15 0; book debts, LlB 2s 6d, estimated to produce L 1 0; furniture in hotel and shop, L 850; furnitire in house, Lls ; property, consisting of three quarter-acre sections, with threeroomed house thereon, in the township of Outram, valued at Ll5O, and about onethird of an acre of land, with a six-roomed dwelling-house, stable, and bakehouse thereon, situated in the North-east Valley, and valued at LSOO. The former property is mortgaged to Mr Blandford for its full value, and the latter is mortgaged to Mr Mackenzie for L3OO. There is a second mortgage on both properties to secure bills due to Messrs Proctors, Jones, and Co. The principal unsecured creditors are as follows:—Thomas William Blandford, L 44 12s 3d ; A. Randell, L 79 7s 6d; do, L 49 10s ; Proctors, Jones, and Co., L 513 15b 3d; James Anderson and Co.> L 9 10s; do, L6l 163 7d ; A. and J. M'Farlane, L 22 3s Id; ■, Union Bank of Australia, L 25 0; Dr Martin, Li 18s 6d; James Hardie, L 5 14b 5d ; A. Davie and Co., L 9 13s; City Corporation, L 29 15s; Phoenix Company, Limited, L 4 12s; G. H. Marsden, L 6 14s; A. Kilpatrick, L 9 19s 6d ; James Scoular, L 182; fl. Langham, L 3 ss. The secured oreditora are: William Blandford, L 150; Thomas Mackenzie, L 300; Prootors, Jones, and Co., amount of debt, L 1,864 03 lOd—estimated value of security, L 250. It was resolved that Mr J. Anderson be appointed supervisor of the estate, and that
the realisation of the estate bo left in the hands of the Assignee and supervisor; also that the bankrupt's furniture to the value of LSO in all be granted to the bankrupt at prices in bailiff's schedule, and that an allowance of L 3 per week for five weeks be granted to the bankrupt.
