IPEIGHT AND CO.'S PRIZE BEER. G. R. West, Esq., 135 Euston road, London. Dear Sir,—Being intimate with ore of the principal supervisors of excise here I sent him a few dozen of Messrs Speight and Co. 'o Dunodin Beer with the object of getting the opinion of the Excise Chemist on it; and lam glad to say he has pronounced it one of the finest Beers he ever analysed, it having the high specific gravity of lO.SOdeg, the greatest amount of spirit and the least quantity of acid he ever camo across. When I tell you that every shipment of Beor going out of the Clydo must bo sampled by the oxcise officers and then analysed by their chemists, I considor this opinion is better than anything elso I could say on it. At present the Beer is too flat to fend to anyone not an export in tho trade; but a* soon as it comes into condition I will have it distributed. Yours vory truly, (Signed) ROBB, MOORE, AND CO. (Per H. S. Moore).
A Oorreppondent writes : Please send me somo more of that Speight's Ale you aro bottling. I am very particular boat the beer I have, and hitherto have had a down en "Colonial," preferring to pay the nigher price for tho best brands of English Bottled Ale. I must confers, howover, that what you havo sent me pleases me in every reppect as well as any I have ever used. Perhaps the great difference in prioo between 10j and 14a a dozen has alfoctod my judgment, but I do not think bo. At any rate, so long na you maintain the quality at tho same standard you should be able to supplant tho imported ai tide. To John Barron, 29 Rattray street.
