L.ONDON, June 18. Mesßrs Jacomb, Balme, and Co. report having catalogued 12,000 bales, of which one-third was from New South Wales and New Zealand. There was a full attendance of the trade and competition was brisk. Good merinoe3 and fine cross-breds ruled $d above the May rates; medium to inferior merinoea and coarse cross-breds are unchanged.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London Office, dated 18th inst,:—" The sales opened this day at the level of last sales except for good greasy and scoured, and for which the market is firmer. Attendance of both home and foreign buyers is good, and competition is fairly active. The sales comprise 320,000 bales, 82,000 bales having been sent to the manufacturing districts direct." The British and New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Company have received the following cablegram from Messrs Helmuth, Schwartze, and Co., dated the 18th inst. : 41 The sales opened with large attendance of both home and foreign buyers. Competition is animated, and prices are well maintained. Total available, including old stocks, about 325,000 bales."
