In a case before the London Bankruptcy Court on April 2, it was stated that the bankrupt had lost over L 3.000 by betting. Mr Registrar Linklater said the Court was neither a judicial laundry for the whitewashing of bankrupts, nor a betting agent’s guarantee and protection society, and suspended the bankrupt’s discharge for five years.
