Major Reeves, of Otago, has been appointed to be lientenant-colonel of the honorary unattached list. The inquiry made by Colonel Sheppard at Auckland into the allegations that a volunteer. whilst in uniform, served a writ upon Mr J. C, Firth, has concluded with the result that the person charged has been exonerated, it having been shown that he was not in uniform.
