The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise, No. 3,990, Ancient Order of Foresters, was held in the court room, Carroll's Hotel, on Tuesday evening, a largo number of members bang present, also several visiting brethren from other courts. One now member was initiated by O.R. Bro. Turnbull, assisted by P.C.R. Bro. M'Naughton, jun., and three candidates proposed for initiation. D.O.R. Bro. A. P. Adams responded to the toast of "Visiting Brethren." It was decided to piy an official visit to Court Pride of Dunedln next Taesday. The court went into harmony, and a pleasant evening was spent. Tho ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Hand and Heart Lodge was held last evening, and there was a very large attendance. N.U. Bro. Hamel presided. A good deal of discussion took place over one important question which took up the best part of the evening, and finally the matter was left in tho handi of a committee. The N.G. notified that there would be a degree meeting on Friday next at the Loyal Albion rooms ; also there would be another of the socials held next week. Two candidates were made members, one was admitted by clearance, and one proposed for membership. P.P.G.M. Bro. Deacon replied on behalf of the Loyal Dunedin to the second toast, and P.G.M. Bro. Wood to the third toast of the evening. Receipts for the evening amounted to L4O 10s lOd.
The fortnightly meeting of the Otago Lodge, No. 107, U.A.0.D., was held In the Baldwin Hotel last night, A.D. Bro. Muir presiding. There was a moderate attendance of the brethren. After the business of the evening was disposed of, the lodge went into harmony. One member was proposed for initiation. The receipts for the evening amounted toL73 4s4d.
