Sib,— Some three or four years ago a gentleman arrived in this colony with the avowed and openly expressed Intention of teaching the colonials in Dunedin, nay, New Zealand, the correct method of transacting business. It is currently reported in Dunedin that a well-known solicitor is the recipient at the hands of the gentleman referred to of a lengthy communication having reference to business generally, and sweating in particular, I do hope and trust that this important document may see the light, as I feel sure that were the public of this City afforded an opportunity of perusing the same, rich as it is in its profusion of capital letters and' original orthography, they would readily, see to what lengths self-conceit and bumptious arrogance will carry a man. Those of us who nave been reared beneath the Southern Cross are, I feel sure, ever ready, to learn j and it is at any rate interesting to discover that a handsome salary by no means necessitates even a close approximation to the current system of orthography.—l am, eta., Sugar.
