TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—Will you permit me to tender a suggestion to the Post Office authorities or the agents of the various stef m companies that a flag be hoisted announcing the arrival of the steamers carrying mails—lst, at the Bluff j 2nd, Wellington j 3rd, Auckland — as it is done in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. The same flag with a “ blue peter” denotes the departures. I think that such a simple matter might be attended to in Dunedin. It would, I think, be of material service to all commercial men.—l am, etc., Jules Joubert. Dunedin, June 4.
