HIGH SCHOOL GOVERNORS.
The monthly meeting of the High School Board of Governors was held to-day, and attended by the Rev. Dr Stuart (ehairman), Rev. A. R, Fitchett, Hon. W. H. Reynolds* Mr J. Fulton, M.H.R., Dr Brown, and HU Worship the Mayor. A committee, consisting of the Rev. Mr Fitchett and Dr Brown, along with tho rectors of the various High Schools, waa appointed to make inquiries regarding the> procuring of photographs of the exterior and Interior of the Uigb School buildings for the purpose of placing the same in the educational department of the Exhibition. The same gentlemen were also constituted a committee to examine the slope in front of the Dunedin High School, with the vieV' to having the same planted with trees, etc. Mr R. B. Martin, on behalf of Mr F. Atkinson, applied for a lease of fonr acres of land at Arden township, Strath Taierl. —lt was decided to allow Mr Atkinson to occupy the land in question for grazing purposes only, during the pleasure of the Board* at Is per month.
The Exhibition Committee of the Presbyterian Church forwarded an application for the loan of a photograph of Sir John Richardson for use at the forthcoming Exhibition,—lt was decided to grant the request, subject to the picture being insured and other necessary precautions taken against destruction or damage. Accounts and salaries amounting to LS67 13s 6d were passed for payment.
