HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GROUND.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l beg leave to correct a slight error made in a paragraph published by you today. You state that subscriptions are being asked for in order "to pay the debt due upon the formation of the High School football ground." Now, there was and is a special fund (of which I happen to be custodian) for the formation and improvement of our football ground, and at the present moment that fund showß not a debt but a surplus. Of the LBO Bpent on the ground, less than LlO was contributed by the General Ground Improvement Committee now asking for subscriptions, Ll6 were contributed by the Boys' Football Club, and of the remainder part was earned by an entertainment specially got up for the purpose by the boys themselves, and part by the kind help of friendly lecturers. You will thus see that there is no debt in connection with the formation of our football ground, and that your paragraph must have appeared through some inadvertence.—l am, etc., E. E. Morrison.
