RESISTING PROPERTY TAX VALUATION.
May 29. During the Assessment Court sitting yesterday, Mr Crombie, Deputy Property Tax Commissioner, said he would recommend the Commissioner to take over the property of a sheep farmer in this district who objected to the valuation. Mr Crombie Baid the Commissioner would compel £he owner to Bell at his own valuation, plus 10 per cent., if he would not agree to the defendant's valuation. The statement created surprise.
