VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

An interesting triangular rifle match was fired on the North Dunedin range on Saturday, by teams from the Wakari Rifles, West Taieri Rifles, and Kaitangata Rifles. The conditions of the match were seven shots at 200, 400, and 500yd8. The shooting of the country teams was excellent, the Kaitangata Rifles making the fine score of 710 and the West Taieri 711, an average of over 71 points per man for the two teams. The shooting of the Wakari Rifles was not up to the usual average of that company, as will bo seen from the scoreß. The Kaitangata Rifles defeated the West Taieri by 8 points and the Wakari by 92 points. At the finish of the match Lieutenant Wilson, on behalf of the Wakari Rifles, thanked the country companies for the manner in which they had fired the match, and hoped that they would soon meet again, when he hoped the Wakari would give a better account of themselves. Cheers were then given for the Kaitangata and West Taieri Rifles. Lieutenant Rutherford (Kaitangata Rifles) and Lieutenant Blatch (West Taieri) responded on behalf of their respective companies. The following were the scores : Kaitangata Rifles. 200 400 600
