AUCKLAND, May 24. There is fine weather for the holiday. The volunteer parade in Government House reserve, races at Takapuna, and a coursing meeting at Papatoitoi are the principal attractions. A general holiday is observed, and there are many excursions. WELLINGTON, May 24. The weather is fine for the holiday. Numerous excursions are arranged, but there is no special attraction in town. The rifle companies fired the usual ftu tie joie, and the artillery a salute in honor of the Queen’s Birthday. The Governor gives an official dinner to-night. The guests include Ministers of the Crown, Judges, and high public officials. It is expected that the attendance at the mayor’s ball to the Governor to-night will be about GOO.
