UMPIRES AT FOOTBALL.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sm,— Rc the letter which appeared in last night’s issue under the above heading, I would beg to state that the Pirates’ last try was obtained during extra time allowed by the referee for disputes which occurred during the last spell. The Dunedin team must know that the referee has power to allow extra time for disputes, etc-, but in any case it shows a very bad spirit for a leading club like the Dunedin to question the ruling of such a fair and unbiassed referee as Mr Wyinks. Perhaps your correspondent could inform me what Cffisar’s wife had to do with football.—l am, etc., Onlooker, Dunedin, May 21.
