A NEW THEATRE.
TO THB EDITOR.
Sir, —It has been acknowledged for a long time past that Dunedin is far behind the times as regards theatre accommodation. Visitors to our City frequently pass not very flattering remarks on our theatres, and express surprise that a city like Dunedin should be so badly off in this respect. I am glad to see from a local in this morning’s ‘ Times’ that some of our leading citizens are going to take the matter up, and I am confident the movement will receive the hearty support of the general public.— l am, etc., Theatre-goer. Dunedin, May 17.
