Ranger Hughan reported that the purchaser of section 22, block 10, Warepa, had no objection to a road being formed through the section where necessary.—Received.

Ranger Hughan, reporting on an application to have the bush reserve in block 1, Warepa, opened for application (containing 514 acres), recommended that the land be surveyed into sections of from twenty to fifty acres, one section with the best of the bush to be retained for the use of the settlors, and that the area be opened under the village settlement system, on deferred payments, at L2 per acre.—Chief Surveyor requested to arrange for survey, Mr W. D. Smith, on behalf of Thomas Matheson, applied to surrender sections 32 and 33, block 4, Mount Hyde, taken up on perpetual lease.—On arrears of rent being paid the Board will accept surrender. G. Turnbull stated that he was quite unable to pay interest due on section 72, block 11, Glenkenicb, and asked that the section be reduced to the original upset price, 80s per acre, and that Interest be taken from moneys paid. If that could not be done, he asked that his license be cancelled.—To be informed that the Board could not comply with the request, and further consideration deferred until applicant was communicated with.
