MUNICIPAL.
Soutii Dunedin. —Last night’s meeting was attended by Mr Wardrop (Mayor), and Crs Henderson, MTntyre, Carey, Chetwin, Thomas, Cossens, and Marlow.—The Caversham town clerk wrote that his Council, as soon as the question of the levels of Cargill road was settled, would consider the question of maintenance. —The Dunedin Town Clerk asked, on behalf of the City Council, that the South Dunedin Council would close the western end of lloas street, as it was desired to increase the accommodation at the Gasworks. Granted.—The City Clerk also wrote stating that arrangements would be made so that tho gas accounts of the Borough could be collected at the Gasworks office.—The South Dunedin Fire Brigade asked for assistance towards repairing their uniforms. Referred to the Fire Brigade
Committee.—The Finance, Works, Mayor’s, and Water Committees’ reports, which contained nothing of especial interest, were read and adopted.—lt was resolved that as s'oon as practicable Richmond and Surrey streets should be formed to the proper level.—The inspector was directed to take steps for the removal of all piggeries which were not the proscribed distance from the streets.
