The amount of revenue collected at the Customhouse on (roods cleared to-day for consumption was 1i1,49J8i6d. Mr W. A. Walton, well known in insurance circles, has been appointed manager for Otago for the Australian Mercantile Union Insurance Company. An adjourned meeting of the creditors \n the estate of John Griffen, brewer, was held at the Supreme Court-house this morning. Mr Halligan (representing Carew and Co.) proposed, and Mr Galloway (ay proxy for R. Wilson and Co.) seconded a resolution " That the debtor be forthwith discharged." The motion was carried.
