MART 1. The inquiry into the murder casp w&stJontiriijefl this morning, M r Peudsnt, a merchant of Auckland, wh>» has previously resided in Russia, aoting as interpreter for the accused.
Sergeant-major O'Grady deposed to taking off the boots from the accused and showing them to Dr Huxtable, who remarked that tho spots on them looked like blood. The accused accounted forthe stains by saying that bis nose bled on the floor. The witness saw on the under nail of prisoner's finger blood, and also in his noitril. Previous to the 16th ingt. he had not seen blood on the fl»or or about the accused.
