ST. MATTHEWS ORGAN RECITAL.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —As some miaappreheuf-ioa cxia'ca regarding tho method of obta'i iag money for the choir fund in connection with hi ab rr I shall bo gkd if you will albw rae to make the following explanations ; 1. $0 tichctd were sold. 2. No money was demanded for admission on the occasion. 3. The seatholdera were at liberty to obtain their own seats whether they fiuV scribed to the facd or whether they enjoyed the service free of expense. The only difference between the arrangements for admission at this recital and that at ordinary free recitals was that t'-ioso subscribing towards the fund in advance obtained tickets which provided them with seats in the front part of the church, tho back half b«ing reserved for non-sub3cribera. The amount eubscribed was entirely left to the judgment of the donors. The advantage of this arrangement is apparent. 1, No one has been offended to our knowledge by not being; admitted. 2, No one has felt that he or she ha 3 been imposed on. 3, Whereis at St. Paul's Church lately on a similar occasion with a much larger audience a sum of L2O only was subscribed, at Sv. Matthew's the amount has been doubled. —I am, etc., Arnold R. Kklsky. Dunedin, February 28.
