On eaoh rtoa-night on reaohing homo ho put the bag containing his cash takings into a cupboard in his bedroom until ho could bank It the followir-g morning. On Thursday and Friday thia course waa followed without auy mishap, but Saturday's takings, amounting ;o the sum above stated, were stolen, Mr Waters put tho rr.onoy in the cupboard on Saturday night, and saw it there about e'ght o'clock on Sunday night, whon ho lay dovrn for a rest. At eleven o'clock ho got up and, leaving a caudlo burning, went downstairs, as he intended sitting up
