Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, August 24 The Lord's eleven defeated the Central Mediterranean Forces by one wicket. Bowling for the Central Mediterranean Forces, Merritt took four wickets for 41 runs. The Centra] Mediterranean Forces team had gained a first innings lead of 29 over Lord's. The New Zealander Corporal T. L Pritchard was the most successful bowler for his side, taking four wickets for 20 runs. In their second innings the Central Mediterranean Forces eleven scored 143. Merritt made 38 and Pritchard 11 The team had left its opponents needing 218 for a win.
