MRS.. MARGARET. TANDY,
The death occurred on July 11 of an old and much respected resident of Wellington, Mrs. Margaret Tandy. Mrs. Tandy was born in Courtenay Place in 1857, her father being the late Hugh Curry of the 65th Regiment. In those days the foreshore came up almost to the house1 where her parents lived. The house stood on the site now occupied by the Friendly Societies Dispensary. Mrs. Tandy was educated at the old St. Mary's Convent, .Hill Street. During her life she made many friends because of her kindly and sympathetic understanding of others. Mrs. Tandy s whose husband predeceased her 36 years ago, is survived by four sons and four daughters, Mr. H. H. Tandy (Melbourne),' Mr. A. W. Tandy (Los Angeles, U.S.A.), Mr. C. A. Tandy (Adelaide), Mr. J. G. Tandy (Greymouth), Mrs. Celia O'Brian, Mrs. C. Pout, Mrs. F. W. Deverell, and Miss M. C. Tandy, all of Wellington. There are 19 grandchildren.
