BRITISH CONTROL IN COLOGNE
LONDON, jjune 22. The American pccupying troops have handed Cologne over to the British Military Government. The Union Jack now flies over the Rhineland capital for the first; time in 22 years, since the Rhineland Army departed m 1923. PARTY COLLABORATION Rec. 12.50 p.m. LONDON, June 22. Berlin radio stated that the German Social Democrat and Communist Parties have decided to form a joint committee, enabling the parties to collaborate in the future. The -parties have agreed to cooperate, as the radio put it, to liquidate the remnants of Nazism and to build up an anti-Fascist Parliamentary Republic on democratic lines. They have also decided to form a united front with all the other anti-Fascist parties and to arrange joint meetings of the Communists and tbte Social Democrats. The two parties are also to have talks on nvhat is Called "ideological questions."
