GENERAL FREYBERG
POSSIBLE APPOINTMENT IN NEW ZEALAND LONDON, June 21. Dominion circles in London are discussing a possibility that General Freyberg may be the next GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, says the "Evening Standard's" diarist. "I have heard it said that his withdrawal from the candidature for Spelthorne, Middlesex, is to leave him free for the Governor-Generalship," the writer says. "Lady Freyberg, an active worker at the Fernleaf Club, who has never been to New Zealand, has heard the reports, but told me she had received no confirmation of them from her husband."
