BRITISH VESSELS HIT

LONDON, June 21. Five units of the British Pacific Fleet were hit by Japanese suicide planes in recent operations off the Saki islands. 170 .miles south of Okinawa. The attacks were made over a two months' period, but not one of the ships was put out of action. One suicide plane dived past a carrier within a few feet of the bridge. The carrier was hit twice later, but remained fully operational. An American test pilot in the Philippines says that Japan's two newest naval fighters are much better than earlier types. They are based on German designs which the Japanese have improved upon.
