LONDON, June 7. President Truman,-at a Press,cphfer- * • ence in Washington today, said he did not favour convening a meeting of the Bip, Five, as France had suggested, to deal with the Syrian question. A'meeting of the Big Three (America, Russia, and Britain) had been contemplated for some time, to hold a discussion on world affairs, and the Near Eastern problems could be worked out -without the larger meeting.
