The Trieste Dispute:

OCCUPATION ISSUE

LONDON, June 8.

Diplomatic correspondents in London say that there is^ every likelihood tfcat the dispute over Trieste will end soon. Theyrioreeast that an agreement will be signed in Belgrade between the Ytigo- - slav Government on. the one hand and the British and American diplomats on the other.

Settlement is expected of the outstanding problem connected with the administration of the Adriatic.. port of Trieste and the province of Venezia Guilia outside it. These lie in the British Bth Army area of occupation.

Yugoslav forces are also in' Trieste, and Marshal .Tito has been pressing. his country's claim, as against Italy's, to possess the port. He has already agreed that the final settlement of this issue must await the peace conference. The issue at the moment is one of military occupation following the Ger-1 man surrender. '

During the past few days FieldMarshal Alexander has visited the Trieste area.
