HERE AND THERE

Webby's to Celebrate,

All members of Webby's Club are requested to be present at the club tonight to celebrate the Allied link-up. Wellington Townswomen.

At the April meeting of the Wellington Townswomen's Guild, which was held at the Blind Social Clubroms, Dixon Street, it was decided to take a soldiers' tea at the V.M.C.A. one Sunday during the- year. The guest speaker was Mrs. Forde, president of the National Council of Women (Wellington branch), who gave an interesting talk on women's place in public affairs 50 years ago. Two amusing elocutionary items were contributed by Mrs. Teward and Mrs. Haywood played the piano. The president, Mrs. E. R. Walton, introduced the officers for the ensuing year, and afternoon tea was served.
