LIMITED SUPPLIES

FOOD FOR GERMANY

Rec. 9 a.m. WASHINGTON, April 27. The Assistant Secretary of War, Mr. John McCloy, told a Press conference that the German food stocks at present being used to feed people in the captured areas will be exhausted in 30 to 60 days. He said that the problem of food, fuel, and cover was plaguing all Europe. .The Americans would use local supplies predominantly in feeding civilians, and would use army supplies only in an emergency. They did not know where food was going to be obtained, in view of the shortages. ' The policy would be to get as much as possible from Germany.
