POTSDAM FALLS

OCCUPIED BY RUSSIANS

Rec. 1.20 p.m. RUGBY, April 27. Poasdam, the symbol of the old Prussian militarism, has fallen to the Russians. An Order of the Day issued by Marshal Stalin says: "The First White Russian Front troops, continuing the offensive, occupied today the towns of Rathenow, Spandau, and Potsdam, an important junction of communications and a powerful stronghold of German resistance in central Germany."

Rathenow is 35 miles west of Berlin and Potsdam 17 miles south-west of Berlin.—B.O.W.
