RAIL ORDERS FROM TURKEY
Britain is to supply £1,000,000 worth of railway material to Turkey, reports the London "Evening News." Orders were placed by the Turkish State Railways delegation which has been in Britain for the past six weeks studying the United Kingdom railway system. Mr. Faruk Kardam, a member of the delegation, stated: "We have learned a great deal from British railways during the past three months, when we have toured thousands of miles, mainly in the industrial areas. We have studied Britain's post-war plans for railway construction and carriage and locomotive building, and have been much impressed. We are proud to offer our tribute to the magnificent work of the British railwaymen—and women—during the war."
