February 24. This morning his Excellency the Governor-General received Sir Ernest Fisk.
Mr. Ronald S. Luke. A.R.A.N.Z., formerly of Wellington and now residing in Sydney, has arrived in Wellington. Mr. Luke is an Alderman of the Mosman Municipal Council. He is also honorary secretary of the Political Reform League (a citizens' cfentre movement), founded in New South Wales under the leadership of Mr. D. P. Macdonald, M.L.A., and he has also been prominently connected with the National Emergency Services in New South Wales during the war years.
The Acting Minister of Supply and Munitions (Mr. Nash) will leave for Nelson .tonight, and will officially open there on Tuesday morning the annual conference of the New Zealand Retailers' Federation.
Lieutenant-Colonel C. S. J. Duff has been appointed to the Canteen Board in succession to Colonel C. W, Salmon, who has retired.
