MR. SULLIVAN'S TOUR
RETURN TRIP FROM BRITAIN
LONDON, February 21. Mr. Sullivan has left London on the first stage of his return by air to New Zealand.: ...On his way across America, he will spend a few days in discussions in Ottawa and Washington. Mr. Sullivan has had an extremely busy two months since his arrival in London. Almost every day of his stay he had discussions and interviews with the British Government, Ministers and authorities, and representatives of industry on aspects of postwar air services and industrial and trade matters. In addition, he was received by the King and met Mr. Churchill and other members of the Cabinet. The second phase of his activities was the opportunity he seized whenever and wherever possible of meeting New Zealanders in the forces. From London he set out on a comprehensive tour of inspection of the N.Z.E.F. in the Mediterranean theatre.
Mr. Sullivan was to have flown to Holland last Friday to spend some days with Dominion squadrons supporting the present drive into Germany and also to accept an invitation by Field-Marshal Montgomery to meet the British commander at his field headquarters. He stood by day after day while the crew of an R.A.F. Transport Command aircraft waited for a break in the weather, but adverse conditions persisted till he could no longer delay the journey to Washington.
