When he attempted a forced landing with a Corsair aircraft at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station, Ardmore, yesterday, Flying Officer Dennis Gordon Allwright Ritchie, of Timaru was seriously injured. He was removed to the Auckland Hospital suffering from a broken collarbone, burns on his feet, abrasions, and cuts about his face. The cause of the forced landing is not known, but the aircraft came down about half a mile from the air station and caught fire.
