HUTT HOSPITAL

TO OPEN SHORTLY The first section of the new hospital at Hutt is finished except for equipment, and is expected to be opened in a few weeks. It will then accommodate 230 patients. It is expected that it will take a year to complete the remaining section, when the hospital will be one of 410 beds. About 100 nurses ■ will be required, and staffing arrangements have been made with the help of the civil nursing division and the V.A.D. nurses have been in training at the Wellington Hospital for some time for transfer to the Hutt hospital. Increasing numbers of girls are applying for hospital training, mainly from clerical occupations, but there are also a number of inquiries .from members of the W.A.A.C. and W.A.A.F.
