HOSTELS ORGANISED
Miss Violet Macmillan, who was granted a year's leave of absence' by the Home Science Department of the iOtago University in order, to organise war workers' hostels in the Hutt Valley for the Y.W.C.A., is about to resume her University duties, and on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. D A. Ewen, chairman of the Hutt Valley Y.W.C.A., a function was held to bid her farewell. Mrs. Ewen referred to the important wartime service rendered by Miss Macmillan and spoke appreciatively of her organising capacity and powers of administration which had been so valuable in the establishment of such a large and important hostel scheme as that initiated by the National Service Department at /Woburn for girl war workers. Mrs. Ewen also expressed the good wishes of the committee to Miss Mary Sutherland, who succeeds Miss Violet Macmillan as .superintendent. Miss Sutherland has been on the staff as Assistant Superintendent throughout the period of Miss Macmillan's superin tendency. /
