EWES FOR FAIRS

RAILWAYS AVAILABLE

The New Zealand Farmers' Union had been in touch with the railway authorities on the question 'of the transport of breeding ewes, particularly in regard to transport to , and from the ewe fairs, said Mr. A. P. O'Shea, Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Union last night. The Railway Department.-had emphasised the serious position in regard to coal, but had indicated that provision would be made for the transport of ewes. Everyone should bear in mind the acuteness of the coal question, however, and use the rail as sparingly as possible. Wherever possible alternative means of delivering sheep should be used.
