The authorised strength of the United States armed forces to, be attained by the end of June next is 11,300,000, said Major-General L. B. Hershey, director of United States Selective Service, in a speech in which he also revealed that selective service had been called on to deliver about 900,000 men during the first three months of 1944.—8.0.
