The marriage has taken place of Brigadier MacCormick, previously Director of Medical Services, and Joan Stewart Fenwick, N.Z.W.A.A.C, daughter of Mrs. and the late Doctor D. E. Fenwick, of Wellington, and granddaughter of Lady and the late Sir George Fenwick, of Dunedin. General Freyberg escorted the bride, who until recently was serving aboard a hospital ship, ' and members of the ship's staff attended the wedding. Chaplain H. Squires, of the same ship, conducted the ceremony.
PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS (0.C.) LONDON, April 2£. The engagement is announced between the Rev. D. Stuart Barton Babbage, chaplain, R.A.F., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon S. Babbage, of Wanganui, and Flight Officer Elizabeth (Betty) King, W.A.A.F., elder daughter of the late Lieut.-Col. A. E. King, R.A., and of Mrs. King, of Camberley. The marriage will take place quietly at Feltwell, Norfolk, on May 26. The engagement is announced between Major Norman Walter Routledge, R.A., youngest son of the late Mr W. J. Routledge and Mrs. Routledge, of Ilford, Essex, and Miss Martha Denman Grigg, N.Z.W.A.A.C, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grigg, of Blenheim. The engagement is announced between Ruse Anthony Hay Burton, eldest son of Lieut.-Col. H. C. H. Burton and the late Mrs. Burton; and Margaret Violet Gertrude Jeffreys, eldest daughter of the late Dr. H. E. Jeffreys and Mrs. Jeffreys, of Nelson. On April 17 the marriage took place at St. Stephen's Church, Bournemouth, of Flying Officer David Lloyd Richwhite, R.N.Z.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs.' C. M. Richwhite, of Auckland, and Dorothy Minna Robertson, only daughter of Mr. H. S. and the late Mrs. Robertson, Ariskere, India. The marriage took place on April 7 at St. Aloysius, Oxford, of Flying Officer James Richard Robert Devereaux, R.N.Z.A.F., and Miss Doris Evelyn Smale, A./S./O. W.A.A.F. On March 29 the death occurred, suddenly, at Dirai tea estate, Assam, of Richard Joyce Clarke, second son of Mr. Richard T. and Mrs. Clarke, of Eastbourne, Wellington. AMERICAN BRIDEGROOM The wedding of Miss Odette Whiting, of Wellington, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Whiting, of Auckland, to Mr. James Elwyn Jeter, only son of Mrs. J. C. Jeter and the late Captain Jeter, of Houston, Texas, took place at. the Moles worth Street Methodist Church on Saturday, June 5. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. Bateup. ' The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. Ashton Whiting. Miss Rene Ackroyd was bridesmaid, and Mr. John Poulter, U.S.M.C., best man. A reception was held at 145 Aro Street, Mrs. Guy Robieson undertaking the duties of hostess,
