HIDDEN SOURCE
COMMUNIST PARTY FUNDS
LONDON, March 30. Tremendous sums are being spent ont Communist activity in Britain, but thei. source of the money is hidden, says aa article entitled "Where Is the Communist Party Balance-sheet?" in the "Labour Press Service," which is issued by the Labour Party Press PublicityfNH^, Department.
The article continues: "The 'Daily Worker* alone in 1943 is costing double the Labour Party's annual income from affiliation fees from 2,500,000 organised members, and the 'Daily Worker' ia only one of many expensive CommuiW ist enterprises. For what is all this wealth being poured out? It is to in-, fluence mass opinion, and particularly; Trade Union Labour movement opin* ion, in favour of the Communist policy. The Communist leaders have admitted! that they take their direction from arg authority outside Britain. We know^ therefore, who calls the tune, but wha pays the piper? It is useless looking tat,' the Communist Party for a reply, be^ cause the party carefully hides all in«* formation about its finances. NobodyJ not even the members of the Corns munist Party itself, except a select] few, is allowed to know anything aboui the finances. *
"Labour men and women' should bat< on guard aiyiinst money power wielded' secretly by people who for years havfc proclaimed their enmity to the Labous Party."
