PERSONAL NOTES
Mr. C. A. Woolley, superintendent of the Wellington Fire Brigade, is expected to return on Monday from his tour of inspection of the. Wellington district in connection with his duties as District Fire Controller.
Mr. J. F. Frew, president of the New Zealand Master Bakers' Association, and Mr. G. Rl Burrowes, secretary, have returned to Christchurch after attending the association's conference in Wellington.
/Meiribers of the staff of Hamilton Nimmo and Sons, Ltd., met in a social function last everiihg' to honour the head of the firm,-Mr. Hamilton Nimmo, on his SOth birthday, and to congratulate him on his 64 years of continuous business activity,, commencing in Scotland. The' New Zealand business was established in Wellington in a small way 34 years ago, and has now grown td one of. the largest bf its kind in the Dominion. • Until recent years Mr. Nimmo took an active "part in Christian social work and was for long chairman of the British and Foreign' Sailors' Society.
