AUCKLAND CHAMPIONS

TIE ON FIRST INNINGS

In the special cricket match, between the Auckland senior champions (Grafr toh-Y-M.C.A;). and Wellington's leaders (Hutt), commenced yesterday afternoon and concluding today at the Basin Reserve, there was. an exciting' finish to the first innings. • The visitor's, batting first, had made 129 runs, and Hutt's reply had reached 62 before the second wicket fell. Then wicket's commenced to fall cheaply to Burke and Martin, and Hutt's innings ended with the" score at the same total as that made by the visitors.

C. Muir made more than half the runs for Hutt, after haying taken eight of the ten wickets for just under seven runs apiece.
