MORE CO-OPERATION WANTED
(Rec. 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 2,
Tokio radio quoted Kazuo Aoki, former Finance Minister, who has been appointed, head of the new Greater East Asia Ministry, as saying that the reason for the new Ministry was the desire for closer co-operation between the Government and the Chief Command of the armed forces. He added that a liaison committee had been created within the Ministry, of which the War and Navy Ministers were members.
Aoki defined Japan's ■ war aims as "the establishment of a new order, based on moral principles and justice, in which all countries in Greater East Asia sphere would take their own place, with Japan as the central point." Tokio radio announces that Shunichi Matsumoto had been named Vice-Min-ister of Foreign Affairs. Four new Ministers were appointed for occupied China, witli offices in Shanghai. Nanking. Kalgan, and Peking. Shieecnori Togo, former Ambassador to the United States, has been appointed Minister to French, Indo-China.
