NAZIS GAOL GUERNSEY POLICEMEN

RUGBY, September 26. The Germans have imprisoned practically the whole of the Guernsey! police force, some of whom were caught in German food and fuel stores. Eight sergeants and constables who were put on trial received terms of imprisonment ranging from one to four and a half months.—B.O.W. FRENCH AIR SQUADRON TO SERVE IN RUSSIA - ♦ RUGBY, September 26. A French fighter squadron has left for the Russian front after a series of military and diplomatic talks between representatives of the French National Committee and the Soviet. The unit, which, it is hoped, will soon be in operation, will be christened the "Normandy" squadron, and its flag will bear two silver leopards, the emblem of the Province of Normandy. It will fight under the operational command of th,e Russian air force.—B.O.W.
